Glacial Geology in The Morning

I don't like to call it morning until I've slept.

This project should have been started a week earlier. I should manage my time better. Gah.

School is very intense right now but yet I can't seem to crack the whip and make myself do all the things I should be doing. It's hard to keep focused on your future when all you want to do is live in the now. Especially, when you have to keep reminding yourself that there is a future.
You most likely won't die today.

Finals, Strange Creek, move out, Jackson, Pete, Bonaroo, Utah, in that order. All in one month.

I'm excited, overwhelmed, and stressed out about this. In a good way.

I talked to Kim today. We decided that we're going to be pen pals. Like with letters and envelopes and stamps. I think I may have decided for us but, Kim didn't complain. Boston won't be the same without her. On the up side, I'll have a place to stay in Florida.

I've been up all night working on this project for glacial geology. I have to map out glacial structures and morphosequences. I've been at this for 7 hours now plus another 5 or so over the weekend. I'm finding what I think is a glacial lake deposit. The thing is, if I map a glacial lake, it's like a meteorology student predicting snow in July. I mean, it could happen, but probably not. I am going to go for it anyways. Either, I'm wrong and I write an awesome paper about why I'm wrong and I still get a good grade for being ballsy, or, I'm right and I get an even better grade. I don't see a downside.

On sunday I went to Staples. I was getting out of the car and the wind caught my door and it slammed into the car next to me. It left a decent mark. I decided I would go about my business and if the car was still there when I got out I would leave a note.
Sorta the right thing, eh?
When the girl at staples finished printing my map copies I walked out to my car. The car I banged up wasn't there any more. I figured they didn't notice and I was off the hook.

Later that day I stopped for some wine at the packy. As I walk up to my car I notice that my passenger side fog light was punched in. There is no damage anywhere else on the car (aside from the few bumps I caused). The light is recessed into the front bumper so if I car had hit me and broken it it would have destroyed the whole side of my bumper too. But, the light was the only thing broken.
So, I'm standing there I've just noticed the light is broken and I'm trying to process. Seconds later, some guy from about 5 rows of cars away yells over to me, "hey, did someone hit your car?" I'm confused "yeah". the guy runs over. He's a lowellite. Looked like he works in the sun all day and doesn't have dental insurance. He tried making small talk with me about my car and how some one did that to him before. Meanwhile, I'm thinking eithe,r this guy did this to my car or, he was stalking me. There is no way he could have seen any damage to my car from where he was, and the only way he would have had time to notice my reaction before yelling over to me was if he had been watching me walk out of the store. Either way, I'm creeped out. I got out of there with a "yeah, this does suck. ok, bye."

It wasn't until last night that I realized it was most likely the guy in the staples parking lot. If that's the case I guess I deserved it but, he could have just taken down my plate number or something.

Forgot about this thing for a while.

This was a great weekend. I got some school work done and then headed to Boston to see a boy.

On the way to the Decordova Museum Rickshaw and I drove by the Walter Gropius house and decided to stop in and see if we could take a tour.

As, soon as we walked into the visitor center we were greeted by two women in their 50's. They asked if we were there for the 12 o'clock tour. Sure. We were invited to join the guest book and have our names counted among some prominent people I'd never heard of. We walked to the front of the house to join with the rest of the tour group. A bunch of pretentious middle aged europeans dressed in dark clothes. I felt like we walked into a bad art movie from the 60s.

The tour was interesting. I don't know much about architecture beyond what I think looks good.
They were discussing the paint used in the door jams and the type of metal tubing used to make the legs of the buffet in the dining room. We were just trying not to laugh and pretend to look as serious as they were.

After the tour we made our way to the Decordova Museum. It's an out door sculpture park with tons of awesome things that you're not allowed to climb on. I need to go back at night.

Today was uneventful. I was productive. Looks like I'm all set for Utah. I'm almost all set for Bonaroo also. SO much stuff to take care of it's overwhelming.
